Dec 11, 2017 this article only explains how to use the . Installation steps for . Hi guys! I was wanting to know if the and are the same for two-way CAD. To be exact, I'd like to know if they will work with Magenta, Arena, and Mastercam. Btw, I don't know anything about Magenta. I have a 2015 SX3000 and I have been trying to get Mastercam to work with it but no luck. The latest version of Magenta from 2015 is 4.10 but it doesn't have the TAP3D file. So, any help would be appreciated. Thanks A: In general you can probably use any CAD program for milling, but some of the most powerful ones have the ability to mill by programming the machine path. Using Arena, Magenta, Mastercam or even the various Microstation, SOLIDWORKS and 3DS Max programs the mill can be controlled by the CAD program. The most common example would be milling in a CNC mill by programing the path with CAD, then using the CAD to position and program the milling machine. A: There are two things that need to be done to get the Z axis running: 1) Record a path 2) Build the tool library The latter step is what you have to do with Mastercam, as it's the only milling CAD program I've used. To build the tool library, go to: Tools | Mastercam Utilities | Tool Library Manager | File | New Add a name to the new tool library and the following will appear in the box: 4.1.1.3.1: Entry information for tool library Data structure Name: * Description: * Element type: Tools Reference set: The one you have to use will be the one that says : Reference set: and then the names of the files that make up the path. This one is a bit long, so if you're comfortable with unzipping it you can go to the.xml file, open the contents, and copy the part in bold (it's a path) and paste it into the box: The only bit that matters is the part with the length, as that tells it what path needs to be loaded:
